古河市兵衛翁　像

古河市兵衛翁は天保三年（１８３２年）京都岡崎でうまれる
行商から身を興し明治八年鉱山経営に着手　その強靭な気根と不撓の行動力により幾多の困難を乗り越え「鉱山王」とよばれる　足尾銅山の発展を基盤として多角経営に進出　これが今日における古河グループ発展の基礎となる
この地は翁が明治十年住居兼古河本店としてその後二十年間事業の拠点とした発祥の地である

Furukawa Ichibe was born in Kyoto Okazaki in 1832.
He caused the body from peddling. He set out to mine management in 1875. He was referred to as "mineral king" overcome many difficulties by acting power of inflexible and tough aerial roots. Was advanced to the diversified management as the foundation of the development Ashio copper mine. This is the basis for development in the Furukawa group today
He was used as a residence and Koga head office from 1834 to this land. It is the birthplace of the base of the business over the 20 years.
