慰霊の泉   戦没者に水を捧げる母の像

戦没者の多くは　故国の母を想い　清い水を求めながら　息を引き取りました　この彫刻は　清らかな水を捧げる慈愛の溢れる母を　抽象的に表現したものです　また　この母の像の外壁は　日本古来の宮や社にある固有の　簡素なたたずまいを表します　そして背後には　第二次世界大戦の戦跡の石を収集して　展示しております

Statue of a Mother Offering Water

Many of the war deads longed for their mothers and pure water at the last moment.
This atatue represents a loving mother offering pure water in an abstract form.
The outer wall of this statue represents the simple atmosphere seen in traditional Japanese shrines.
Stones collected from the battle sites are exhibited at the back.
